Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams will be returning to Iceland to perform again after more than 20 years performing in other countries.

RÚV reports that he will be performing August 9, with tickets to go on sale July 3. This is not his first performance in Iceland, though his previous visit was somewhat ill-fated.

In 1991, Bryan Adams achieved considerable commercial success with his single, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”. This song sat at the top of the charts in the UK and North America for weeks, and sold 15 million copies.

It was then unsurprising when, on December 17 of that year, Adams’ performance at the Laugardagshöll arena in Reykjavík was packed with attendees. Unfortunately, a power outage at the beginning of the show cancelled the performance for that day, but another concert was held the day after.

Adams apparently thought well of Iceland, as the video for his song “Do I Have To Say The Words?” was filmed in part in Iceland.
